Clicking fused noise Ricoh mpc 5503

    Hi all,
I am working on Ricoh mpc5503. The fuser unit make clicking noise every time papers go through. But in free run it does not making that noise. Wonder what happen to it and how to fix it.
    Thanks in advance.

This is just a guess, but I would inspect the bearings on the fuser rollers. There is more stress on the bearings when passing paper than when they are just spinning.

The fusing unit has been replaced. which tested normally in other machine.
I heard something related to pressure adjustment. Anyone know how to do that?
    Thanks.

A thin coating of Chemplex 710 in the bearing race surface will fix most all fuser bearing clicking noises.

Bearings are nice thick(ish) steel, hot rollers are thin aluminum and will go slightly egg shaped and clatter around in the bearing race/heat sleeve/expansion ring..etc...

Been using this stuff for years

The fuser gears have a known issue, the wear down early, the new ones are modified.

You should not be running the fusing motor output check with the fuser in the machine as you can destroy the fusing sleeve. This is stated in the manual, I've attached the manual page dealing with that. This is the same for any Ricoh machine with a sleeve style fuser.

I've got a C5503 that I installed as new this april with less than 20k on it that should have the new gears according to its serial number yet it still clickety clicks away. I've got a C2004ex that does the same as well.

Question Re: Clicking on my Ricoh SP C261SFNw (related?)

Hello! New here to the forum. Would the clicking on my printer be related to the fuser bearing as well?

Start a new thread in the appropriate forum for your printer model. This thread is nearly 4 years old. That make it dead and buried and makes you a grave robber.
