    Ricoh MP 6002 DF

DF jams only in scan mode. Intermittantly on the first page scan. Feeds in and secondary rollers do not start but PF and SEP rollers do. Leaving a crunched trail edge of the first document.
I replaced both RADF Feed Motors and ran about 66 test scans and worked. 2 days later they called back same problem. Both Motors were off a used machine. Any ideas.

    Thanks
    Craig

I'm not sure oil and/or replacement of the nominated parts is the answer as I did all of that with no noted success.

I have run into a broken "plastic loop" on the Lower paper feed guide ( look closely at the upper diagram, right beside #8) there is a plastic loop to secure the guide. It breaks easily.

It's difficult to see, but you will have a bit of play in the guide.

My repair, I drill 2 small holes and use wire to make a loop to secure the guide. Works perfect, no failures yet.

    While ago now...

Had a MP"C" 5000-1 have scan motor driver IC/Triac fail(over heat) on the scanner circuit board.

I remember the ADF running random jambs and smelling of over heating. I removed the ADF cover in an attempt to find the fault.
I run a heap of test scans when "BAAAANG" the driver chip exploded with pieces of IC embedded in the foam ceiling of the office.

It was both a blessing and a curse; the fault was no longer dynamic, but the driver board took a few days to arrive from the supplier.

The newer models may have address the issue of motor driver IC overheating with better heat sinking ???

I believe you are thinking about the RADF on MP 5002.
