paper stops just before exit. Sometimes for a period of days machines works fine but usually i have this problem . I swaped a whole inverter unit from an other machine with no result. Paper definition in cassetes is right. It happens from both cassetes. I suspect main motor. any idea?

Turn auto detect on for both trays and see if it detects the correct paper size,

Try feeding from the bypass tray and see if it jams also

Maybe you should have posted your own solution the last time you had this problem to remind yourself how to fix it!

These older machines are noted for the paper size switches going bad and intermittently showing the wrong size, sometimes in the middle of a run. Replace them with new.

bridge switches. they don't log jam codes. when in doubt always replace bridge switches....unless theres no finisher, then I don't know

I put my brain in way-back mode, and if I remember correctly there are springs that control the height and pressure of the lift trays in the cassettes. They are located at the rear of the machine. I believe it will still work if one of the springs are broken, but it will jam if the tray is half full or half empty, I cant remember which. Just a thought.

Jams before exit as bridge/finisher or internal exit tray?
If internal tray... there is this gate that shifts inside and has rubber stops which become very sticky over time since the unit is located directly above the fuser
I ussually rub some tonner or powder into this rubber which prevent sticking,hence the gate shifts freely
Need to dismount the whole scanner unit to acces it

I usually remove the sticker and put cut a small piece of friction pad then stick in in. Works like charm

1. green lever of the fusing unit is broken => ball bearing pressure roller out of position => no pressure => no transport.
2. main motor not powerfull enough (due to not olied bushings (heavy drive)?)
3. A4 orientation wrong.
4. spring bottom plate to weak
5. dirty exit rollers
6. right door not closed well enough

Hi.. If problem still persists without a solution, pls try cleaning or replacing the paper feed clutches.
