MP C2503 Hard Drive replacement procedure

I've never replaced a hard drive on a Ricoh. Is there special requirements, like firmware upgrade or special reset tool or what not?
I have a customer that is turning in their leased Ricoh MP C2503 and want the old hard drive out and a new one put in before they turn in the copier/printer.
Can I just remove the old one and put in the new one and I'm done or tell me please?

When you insert a new hard drive, the system will auto format it. Then you can start using the machine.

I always update the firmware when replacing the HDD. It's a pretty easy process.

On the Ccc03 it is always to at least check for firmware updates once a month. When they first came there were new updates released 3 and 4 times a week.

If they have any software or apps loaded on the drive you will need to uninstal first then replace drive with same or larger capacity. It will detect new drive and ask to format it. You may also need HDD encryption key.

Make sure you note the jumper settings of the original HDD and ensure you format once back in just to make sure all is ok.
