    Thermopile for MPC 2004

    Team
    I need thermopile unit for MPC 2004.
    Machine is giving error code 442-02

    Has anybody replaced it? Is it available somewhere, here we are getting only complete fuser assembly

    Even though the ITB contact and release motor (also Toner supply motor
    (M)) rotates, the ITB contact and release sensor failed to detect the
    specified sensor feeler status within specified time.
    •
    Contact/separation operation: If not detected in 2000msec
    • Home position operation: If not detected in 5000msec
    • Signal detection sampling period: 10msec
    • Image transfer unit not set/faulty setting
    •
    Sensor dirt
    • Sensor defective
    • Motor defective
    • Unit load large
    1. Reset the Image transfer unit properly.
    2.
    Clean the ITB contact and release sensor
    3. Check the harness (disconnected, loose connectors)
    4. Replace the ITB contact and release sensor
    5. Replace the image transfer unit

    Thank you for your quick response & extremely sorry for my mistake.
    It is not SC 442-02 it is 542-02 - "
    Thermopile (Center) does not reload"

    On this model, the thermopile is located on the frame behind the fusing unit. When you pull out the fuser, you will see them

    Sometimes the thermopile just needs to be cleaned of debris, if that doesn't work replace it and reset the the code in service mode.

    It's a rare day that a thermopile goes bad. Probably a problem with the heat sleeve or thermistors.

    I agree that its most likely the thermistor or heat sleeve however I have had a customer damage a thermopile by removing the fusing unit and attempting to self repair the machine. Gotta love the wanna be techs.
