Scanning big files:
Is it true that scan to folder can handle bigger files than scan to email?
Which settings or manipulations must be set to assure good transmission of big files?

Scan to email will always have a max email size so the restrictions is there not at the copier.

I dont believe there are any settings that you are looking for.

While I agree with this point to an extent, he may not be aware that the copier's default setting is 2048Kb (which is stupid and unrealistic) so I always turn off "Max email size" in scanner features.
Also while there is a limit to the size of email that can be transmitted depending on the mail server, it's still going to be at least 20-30Mb or more, which is pretty substantial as long as the Resolution is set at a reasonable level.

Another thing to look for on Savin/Ricoh is to make sure you turn OFF the "Divided Email" feature. Gmail especially hates that....if it sees a stack of emails coming in one right after another, it usually just blocks everything after the first one!

Scan to Folder can definitely handle more as it has no limit other than machine memory. to keep scan to email files smaller teach customer or set as screen default Auto Color Select. Because if they choose scan in color, all pages are scanned in color and the file is huge in comparison

You can also turn on pdf conpression this makes a huge difference to the scanned file size.

If you have an in house Exchange Server, your IT can change the max internal email size.

i scanned both to folder AND to email.
With scan to folder the mpc2500 stopped (without any message) and didn't send the file.
With scan to email, i received the email with message "part 1/5". But the c2500 told me to reload the last 3 pages (on top off the papers that were not yet scannedl).
So, we don't think scan to folder is an improvement.

Is it possible to send a file (with a scanner) directly to "we transfer"?

Either download the custom SMB3 firmware, or use FTP.

Turn on all compression settings, set all compression to maximum, and turn off Divide & Send and Max File Size: under User Tools > Scanner Features > Send Settings.
