    FTP Scanning

This was shared with me and I thought i would pass it along.
I know there are techs out there having issues with SMB and wondering how to setup FTP.

Scan to FTP using a NAS or private cloud.
No additional FTP server or other FTP software required.

I can't speak as an IT expert but I know Konica has stopped supporting FTP due to it's security vulnerabilities.

There are many old MFPs that will not do SMB scanning to windows 10. Scan to FTP will work though.

    Re: FTP Scanning

Filezilla software is just as secure as Quick and easy FTP server lite. Nothing really wrong with either. The only thing I do not like about Filezilla is it is too robust for scanning to one computer.

SMB vs FTP: Olde machines are not the only problem with SMB. A lot of newer machines are not working with SMB due to Microsoft changing security features faster than manufactures can come up with updated firmware.

I have not seen anything about Konicaminolta not supporting FTP. It can be just as secure as SMB with authentication. FTP does not have to be Anonymous like the default setting of the Konicaminolta FTP Utility.

    Re: FTP Scanning

DO to Microsoft and apple continue to update there OS systems IE changing SMB requirements and screwup what works. I have been forced to use either scan to email or scan via FTP.
I have always used filezilla server and never had an issue.
