    Savin 8045mfp driver issue

Had a billable customer call us with a former machine of ours they inherited for their non profit. They want to use it to print with so I went down today and loaded the latest "Universal PCL 6 driver" from the website. First test page printed fine. Document from Word printed fine. Both computers are Windows 10 and once they tried to print from their email, the copier started printing out endless pages of garbage. No IP conflict, no other drivers with same IP, reset IP on the copier to another open address, junk junk and more junk. Reset back to old IP, one test page from the driver printed finePrint then back to junk again.

Is this familiar to anyone? Does anyone have the last known firmware update for this model? We are no longer a Savin dealer so trying to pull firmware is like trying to pull your own teeth sometimes. Last update the machine would have had was the SMB windows 8 patch a few years back.

    Any help appreciated

Is the email HTML format or raw Text format ?

Cut and paste the email to a raw text or *.RTF file format and then print the text/RTF file.

Is there character corruption in the cut and paste file.

First, get rid of the Universal driver. Look at Windows XP or 7 and download that PCL 5 or 6 driver. Because of the age of the machine I would go wit the PCL5 driver.

I'd try the full PCL5 or 6 driver.
Just use the Windows 7 version. They're all the same anyway
The universal PCL driver is garbage i my experience

    Re: Savin 8045mfp driver issue

Thanks for the help. Had the thought after I hit send that maybe one of the older PCL 5 drivers would still play nice with Windows 10 even if they're for 7 and 8. Called the customer back and so far the driver has behaved since a couple of computer restarts and removing all the unused print drivers from the control panel. Do have the PCL5e driver uploaded to my Google drive now should I need it.

Again thanks for the advice and also if anyone does have that firmware available, that would be great too.

"Universal PCL 6 driver" is a POC and should be used when you need to pool 2 or more dissimilar Ricoh models.

Just use the Windows 8.1 drivers. From RicohSavin 8045 is a Ricoh 3045.
