Rcoh MP7503 and MPC 5504ex with sadf

    Hello !
Having some trouble with the SADF, for those of you that never heard of SADF, it is a Df that is scanning both sides of a document simultaneous.
Scanning speed is about 180 pages per minut
Now the problem. There is doublefeeding accuring often, and occasionally missfeed.
The document they scan is of varius quality.

Meaning that the customer have to check each scan so every page is in the job.
We have replaced all the roller and belt in the df, does not work, so wear and tear dosnt seems to be the case.
There are two sensors in the lid and cleaning them works sometimes but not Always.
Our supplier has mounted ESD-brush on the df, but it dont seem to help.

I think that the speed is the problem.
Is there any way to reduce the speed without increasing the resolution. The customer must have 300 dpi.
Or has anyone any idea what to do ?

If there is a large volume of scanning, the shaft from the pickup assembly gets faulty (attached to a 1 way bearing). In lower models (MPC 3501) the shaft attached to the clutch gave me this problem.
    Aye! Cut the crap

Are you saying this is happening on 2 different machines?

Yes on Mp 7503 and Mpc 5504ex, well Mpc 5504ex with the SADF, to complicate things, we have about 600 mfp in our Environment and aproxomatly half of them has this problem. Could be that the working half a.) dont report the error or b.) dont us the scanning as much. So to clarify this answer, yes the problem occurs on about 300 mfp of two differnt types. But i Think the SADF is the same for both.

Ricoh is working on this issue, probably getting 063 jam codes ?
Try using an AF032080 or AF032041 tire, you will have to pull off the old one and use the original hub since it's wider

What are the model numbers or product codes of the document feeders?

Are there any jam codes stored?

How often does this issue happen, once per 100 scans once per 1000?

Did you replace the touque limiter with the friction roller?

Not sure if SDF has this but ADF 3090, have had probs with exit actuator getting lazy causing inter jams, also there is a modified lid and feed pickup assy for this model

First off, get your nomenclature correct. SADF stands for Semi Automatic Document Feeder. What you have is a SPDF, Single Pass Document Feeder.

Double feeding is more often than not a bad torque limiter for the reverse roller.

precisely correct what mention above. is most your originals are below 80 gsm like receipt? that even a proper shuffling wont help?
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.
