    connectiong a mpc3002 fiery to a spc830dn?

    hi
i just placed a SPC830DN at a print shop loaded wth booklet finisher and figured "hey maybe i can get rid of the Fiery that
    i got with a mpc3002 lease return.
I dont care if the printer is not high end print quality but more just placing it without having to
go thru hoops to make it work.
EFI was horrible to talk to and i wont go down that road again.

No Fiery option listed in the PSG, so I would say not compatible....

Oh just try it to see if it works, what have you got to lose. Probably won't work thought.

    hi
i was thinking that but delivered the unit already and then the accnt asked about fiery.
Its hard to quote cost till i know how much time i will spend to make it work or not..
At this time of year i am way too busy for unknown projects so i think i will tell the accnt when i slow down i might try to connect it.
    thnx

The PSG does however list a gigabit Ethernet board and the only use I know of for the gigabit is to communicate with a fiery. It is a different type and EDP code so you might not be able to use the one from the C3002.

Both were launched in the same year, 2012, so they might be the same basic engine but the part number for the controllers are different.

    thanks
i see in the service manual in 5193 an option for EFI.
I might have to power up the fiery and connect a monitor to see if it boots up and
the previous customer didnt pull the HD.
