Ricoh mpc6003 sr3140 finisher shift tray full remove paper

I have a mpc6003 with a sr3140 finisher. it only happens with ledger size paper. the only way to clear it is by turning machine off and on ,with main power switch. I have updated the firmware. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Does the shift tray travel to it's lowest point and just sit there when this happens?

Homer did you get anywhere with this? I've got an SR3150 attached to an MPC5503 doing the same thing sorting or stapling on A3, fine on A4.

It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I have seen this where the sensor flag was not quite in the sensor (talking shift tray lift here). Adding a little electrical tape to the bottom of the flag stopped false tray full / won't reset issues. No pic handy, sorry.

Well. It turned out to be the lift brackets on the finisher shift tray were bent, the machine must have been trying to lift the tray back up when it hit something, bending the tray down.

I keep a set of those brackets in stock because they bend so easy and straightening them hardly ever works.

I've had this happen also. Ricoh's finishers are now so flimsy, we get a lot of calls due to bent stuff.

I've been lucky so far with bent brackets being straightened.
