Re: Ricoh MP2851 (Savin 9228) UPDATE

OK, I went out to work on machine today. Everything went good except there is a fine line showing. Took drum unit back apart and it seems like line is on the old PCR that I had to re-use. The 60K OEM maint kit had a different PCR & drum pickoffs, brush roller & blade the same. Had to put the old PCR & pickers back in. Also the line is being transferred onto the new transfer roller which I also replaced.

Weird thing is I bought parts from Precision roller on the Savin 9228 page. I saw some posts in this thread about using a 1027 drum instead could this be what's in there since PCR & pickers different? Also drum unit directions I printed out of Ricoh MP2851 serv man were slightly different with the screws, etc.

Going to look around on ebay for a new drum unit, if I end up getting a 1027 unit instead does anything need to be modified for it to work?

    Thanks

No. 1027 unit will slide right in.
    Just recalibrate.
I assume you tried to scrub the PCR really well? I don't usually have issues after only one cycle.
I just use a cloth moistened with water
Sounds like it does have a 1027 unit in it.
If the PCR is held in place with an e-clip,then it is for sure.
There's no e-clip used on the standard unit

Thanks sand, yes PCR had clip and I believe smaller shafts with one end tapered.

    I'll look for a 1027 unit hopefully less $$?

Funny thing is I've never had luck rebuilding the ricoh PCU's. Think last time I did one ended up buying a new unit after all.

Must be one of those things you need to do a lot of. Also did the 120K fuser maint kit with no issues. Pretty straight forward, just the drum units give me a hard time.

This is why we just use the 1027 pcu.
slide it in, run developer initialization and you’re done.
