What sort of things is the customer printing and onto what sort of paper?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

+1 on the generic toner. I had a C4503 service call today that's going to have a premature fuser unit failure due to generic toner. They're at 280K and the fusers are rated for 400K..... but they'll be lucky to get 325K out of it.

    Hi there!
My fellow tech had a similar Problem last week, looks like poor fixing, but only with black color was OK. Changing the fuser doesn't matters. The solution was changing the whole black PCDU. The machine has 130K copies and genuine toner.
    Greetings...

Machines with sleeve belt fusers don't have adjustment or envelope levers. They always use the same pressure.

HUH? the fusers always adjust heat/gap for paper weights. may not be mechanical adjust .. might have levers inside that open close via print command.

Most color models have a pressure lease system so the the pressure roller is not left against the fusing film when not making copies. For the CXX03 line the gear on the fusing unit that actuates the release is AB012099 GEAR:ON-OFF:PRESSURE ROLLER. This is the Gear A that needs to be removed in order to remove the Fusing Rear Cover. There is a sensor flag at the front end that indicates whether the pressure roller in On or OFF.
