Exclamation Re: Dark magenta line exactly same on 2 SPC440 and 1 SPC430 printers

    Just some additional research findings...

I think I've found a factory defect because i just got a machine in from wholesale with only 17k total and 9.5k of that is color with the dark line in the exact same place. What to do... hmm.
...I guess I'll post a fix if I find it.

I guess you just disregarded my post with samples showing you that my 7K printer does the exact same thing?
    Fair enough....

Sorry to sound dismissive. I do thank you very much for providing evidence of this defect.
I'm just trying to build as big of a case as possible so someone at Ricoh might take notice.

In fact, when I do bring this issue up, I always mention that you also found the same thing a thousand miles from here.

I tried calling some vendors with Ricoh factory connections, but their support is either on vacation or just doesn't know anything.

If you are with an authorized Ricoh dealer and you were really interested in building a case, the first person you should have contacted would have been your regional service support rep. In fact if you have been with Ricoh for any length of time, you or your boss should be on a first name with him/her. There is a procedure that you have to follow and CTN is not a part of that procedure. They will want detailed information on what problem(s) each machine has had and exactly what you have have done and the results.

Re: Dark magenta line exactly same on 2 SPC440 and 1 SPC430 printers

    Just out of curiosity:

Does this defect appear on all paper sizes, all media types, all trays?
Does the defect reduce/enlarge when the electronic image is manipulated?
Can the defect be seen in the latent image on the magenta drum, when emergency stopped?
Can the defect be seen in the latent image on the intermediate transfer belt, when emergency stopped?
Is there an identifiable interval that might clue you in as to the source of the defect?
And it always appears in magenta only?
According the brochure it appears that 8.5" is the maximum width, true?
    =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
