MP C2051 "Bluetooth Interface Unit 3245" - incompatible?

Hello,

I found on eBay a coupe of Bluetooth Interface Units, Type 3245, from a nice fellow in UK who sold them off for a reasonable price (circa 25€ each). I installed one in my old Ricoh 3030, which happily accepted it with joy. I installed another in my MP C2051. And that's where the problem is.

The machine wakes up and gives me a "Problem with the wireless card error". I tried both cards: they both work well with the Ricoh 3030, but do not work with the MP C2051. I checked the service manual. According to it, the machine is actually compatible, so the bluetooth card should work.

I don't know what to check. Maybe it's merely a configuration issue. Can anybody please give me a hand and some advice on how to proceed? Thanks a lot.

Have you updated the firmware on the copier?

Hmm no... Where can I find the most recent firmware? I cannot find any firmware downloads on Ricoh's homepage. Maybe they are not public?

You will need to log on to Ricoh's TSRC website to gain access to firmware, and to do that you would need to be an authorized technician.

MP C2051 is not one of the Ricoh models that the Type 3245 Bluetooth is shown to work with by SurplusToner.

hi slimslob. I was checking some shops here in Europe and I generally found the Type 3245 Bluetooth associated with the MPC2051. That's why I ended up buying it. For example, take a look at this:

Cannot find any supporting documentation for NA other that the mention in firmware history that System/Copy v2.00 Support for the Bluetooth option (USB dongle) has been added. Please note, I think USB dongle means a blue tooth device plugged into one of the USB-B slots. Latest NA Product Support Guide show Blue Tooth TBA(To Be Announced).
