    mpc5502 SPDF "dead after service

    - Problem:
set original on spdf, press start, it makes a copy from glas plate...
    - facts:
    Original set sensor detects paper.
Checked all sensors via input check and they are all ok, exept for the 5 origin width...
Using the SP output check, there is not a single part that is moving.
The green LED light on the Df main board is flashing.

I used a vacuum cleaner just before this problem begun and i guess it blow up some sensors (static electricity).
It could be that the width sensors are broke, but could it be due to them that not a single part is moving in output check?
Perhaps that is why the DF main board could be broken?
    Thank you for your opinion.
    Greetings
(Yes, i have used the output check for the 1 way)

possible you might had knock a flag out of position. i know on radf there are two senors one on left side and other is on rt side hinge. the one on left can be easily bump out of position or be broken. it tells the copier is closed position.

I agree with copier man, sounds like it doesn't know you have the DF down on the glass it still thinks it is lifted upwards meaning sensor flag out of position or the less likely scenario, the sensor itself is faulty.
I'm pretty sure a fairly easy way to tell is when you close DF down to the glass you hear the scanner lamps move back and forth about an inch. If it doesn't do that it doesn't know you lowered it.

Does the machine beep when the original activates the original set sensor?

Check that there is no problem with the SPDF lift sensor. If it thinks that the SPDF is in the proper down position, when you hit the start button it will copy from the platen glass.

One thing that I have seen is that if the machine thinks the SPDF has been unplugged briefly from the main machine while power is on the main machine will ignore the SPDF. The solution is to power down the main machine and unplug in from the wall. Then disconnect and reconnect the SPDF.. Plug back in and power back up.
