PDF's created in "File maker pro" on a mpc2050 = very slow printing.

    Hoi,
Problem: it takes a very long time to print out a PDF file created in Fi.Ma.Pr.
    Normal PDF's are no problem.
We used Post Script (SD card inserted and driver installed), no improvement.
Printing on a imc2000, is without problem.
Is there a (cheap) solution for this mpc2050?
    Thanks in advance.

file > print > advanced > print as an image.

Kimi: thanks, indeed, this helps already a bit: it is faster...

Or try printing from the Print Preview screen. This flattens the file the same as printing as image but is quicker to find.

You could also try printing using a PostScript driver instead of a PCL driver, if there is one available for your printer.

Without getting too bogged down in the techno-dribble.
    As a test:
Try converting the problem PDF to windows XPS format and then print the XPS file from the MS-windows XPS viewer.
From the software File menu, Print(Ctrl-P) , select printer <Microsoft XPS document writer>. hit <OK> Save file as <enter name>

    ...Caution Techo-babble....
There is some PDF creation software that handle PDF algorithms in a linear read/write fashion instead of Adobes original binary tree traversal method. In linear mode the PDF has to step-by-step search every item source and font type and scale it to the proper paper space, before printing.
Linear searching a PDF can take a little extra CPU time.

If the PDF software reads past an end of block flag the push stack pointer will pop with a false address leaving a dangling address pointer into the PDF file = infinite loop,a hang or slow reading cycle.

I'm unsure of the FMP software you are using, and/or if it does PDF linear searching.

Neo: thanks for your specialised answer. I think the problem are also caused due to the pictures in the PDF files. I think the c2050 has subservient rendering possibilities in comparision with f.i. a imc2000. The suggestion from Kimi was satisfying, the printout is faster!

This software - "File Maker Pro" - is also not "compatibel" with mpc3002: the same problem occurs.
Using a Imc2000 is no problem.
Does anyone know this "Fi. Ma. Pro"?
Is n't it possible that the software itself has a bug?
