Question Lanier LD528 drum unit Will type 1027 work on these?

It's been a while since I worked on a Ricoh product.

I threw most of my stock away. Mostly Sharp now.

I used to use the type 1027 pcu in the aficio 3030 if I remember correctly.

Will this work as well on the Lanier LD528? Sure looks the same.

Thanks in advance for your experiences.

Yes, and there are TONS of threads about the 1027 PCU compatibility.
I can't remember exactly, but you may/ may not have to snap off one of the locator pins on the rear of the PCU

And where exactly are you getting Type 1027 PCU's? They are no longer available from Ricoh. We still have 4 here and I am loathe to use them for any thing other than AF2022/2027's which we still support.

    Loathe to use them? Really?
I've Never had an issue, and it seems to be a pretty popular practice throughout the consortium to use them right up through the xx53 series.
I've heard they're not available directly from Ricoh, but they're readily available elsewhere.
In the U.S. you have precision roller, and Nutone-Densi (to name 2), and I also buy them from Genuine Supply Source here in Canada. I'm not sure if they ship to U.S.

Are you getting PCU type 1027 or are you getting PCU type 1027R. The R stands for rebuilt. Or are you buying after market supplies.

Same here. We rebuild our PCU's with generic drums and I hate stripping down the PCU1027 because it's not really designed to be serviceable, not that it's much harder it's just an annoyance.

Locally we were using Katun AF1015 drums for years and years on almost everything but the MP2501 range hated those lime green drums and gave endless issues with light density and background simultaneously.

Not sure where they source the new generic drums from but they are super high quality, same colour as OEM and even ship with a new transfer roller gear and have had absolutely no problems with them (local company stock code B0399510F)

    I hated KATUN DRUMS...........
made for endless callbacks..........as a whole that developer unit sucks, leaky, dirty and if machine over toned would destroy the dv gears..
If you really want to rebuild them i would look for the Japanese FUJI drums as used in the color mpc2800 and up..
