    Lanier lw324 white vertical band

I have Lanier lw324 that has vertical band about 1/8" white.
we have put know charge and transfer wire unit in it with no results.
Does anyone have an idea before I go replacing the drum?

    if printing AND copying ...

pull the dev unit.. look at the "brush" of dev powder/toner... rotate the gear does the void show up?

take a biz card slip between dev brush into the dev unit.. move side to side... reinstall..

is mark in same place or has it moved? Moved? empty dev unit... sift the powder breaking up clumps.. clean dev unit ...refill and install

    retest

Could also be a bad LPH element. Not the type of symptom one would see from a bad drum.

I agree with posts above. If there is not a blockage on your development unit then it is probably the LED Print Head (LPH). I had the LED overlap get out of alignment which caused a similar issue. Service manual will tell you how to calibrate it back into position.

If you pulled the corona assembly out via removing the printhead make sure that your ribbon cables are connecting. Sometimes the metal contact folds on the end when plugging them back in. I'll attach an example. 20190516_120422 (2).jpg

Touching the drum with your hands will definitely leave a smudge. So two things that you can do that I found work pretty well 1. release the drum blade pressure run the drum blade set mode in the sp put the pressure back on and run a couple sets of prints. Option 2 works faster but do this only if you have to. Use 90% alcohol to clean the spot on the drum, let it dry and do the steps in the first option.
