You're right slim. I saw he was from Florida, but his bad grammar/spelling/calling parts by wrong names/etc. on almost every post made me think that his first language isn't English. Most "IT Techs/ Serv. Techs" that I've worked with or talked to (such as yourself slimslob), are usually very literate, and can convey a message clearly and correctly. Sorry to have gotten off track from the post.

On some of the newer models you have to go into Special Service mode to gain access to free run. Kind of dumb in my opinion, do not know why they felt they had to move that.

A number of models back Ricoh moved a number of highly useful SPs into Special SP and Factory SP.

So I checked out the feeders on a 2550 and c2800. Similar feeders to the c3503.

When spinning the gear that the separation roller is on, the 2550 and c2800 did spin. On both of the c3503 they do not. So... I took it apart.

This is what I found. There is no pin, no glue, no nothing, that could spin the sep roller. WTF?

Similar but not the same. Judging from the service manual for the feeder, there is no pin. It uses a single D type shaft end. Single D nylon, delron and other plastic gears will eventual round out.

This is the end of the shaft where it fits in the gear. Am I missing something? Is it supposed to be glued or something?

Do you know the product code for the feeder, D683 or D779? If it is D683 the gear should look like attached.single D gear.jpg
