I'm sure theres a ricoh bulletin regarding double feeding and it's to do with a separation pad just before the sep roller.

I was about the glue the gear on. lol. Then I noticed the pin in the white bushing. This shaft does NOT turn. The sep roller in this particular feeder does not, and never did spin backwards. It operates more like a separation pad.
See, the problem I had in this particular feeder was that it would feed great with 50 sheets, but once it got down to the last 7-10 pages, one of the pages would skip through un-scanned. So if you were to scan, say 17 pages, it would say it scanned 16, and looking at the pdf, it did skip a page. It would then work fine for a couple weeks. then start skipping pages. Ghosting the pages, no error or anything.
This is the bulletin and its for your df not the spdf

I just put a piece of cardboard under the "friction pad". Works fine now.

Good mod though

I have had trouble with the SPDF double feeding....Remove the reverse roller (2241) from the hub and put a AF032080 blue reverse roller on that black hub. This has resolved my issues completely.
