New IMC3000 Blowing FU102 fuse on AC Drive PCB

    Hi Chaps,

I have a new IMC3000 (been in customer couple of months), keeps blowing FU102 fuses on AC Drive PCB, Ricoh have now kindly intergrated the fuses into the PCB so you have to fit complete new board rather than just the cheaper option of a fuse.

Board replaced once with fuser out and FU102 blow straight away. No Obvious short circuits when tested with mutli-meter. Seem to remember 01 or 02 series having an issue with IH Coil and Invertor PCB and the Older models used to blow fuse on PSU.

Anyone seen issue on IMC range?

    Thanks

I've not seen anything on the Ricoh forums or Tech Pubs about it.

Although it's mounted on the AC Controller, FU102 connects through CN988 to the DC power supply (AZ240323). I'd start looking for shorts there, especially if it blows immediately.

Get some fuses with long leads on the them to solder on to the board to jump the blown fuse.

I think Ricoh must take his responsibility and fix this issue while still in waranty.
I don't think the problem is related to a "bad usage" of customer...
Perhaps it was a technician training machine?

Re: New IMC3000 Blowing FU102 fuse on AC Drive PCB

So it turns out there are some faulty DC PSU boards fitted at factory which are blowing FU102 fuse on the AC Drive board, although on the AC board the fuse is on the DC circuit. (approx 1 in 200 devices).

Ricoh are aware and investigating problem. Current fix is to replace the AC and DC PSU as a pair!!

    Thanks for the input chaps.

    Hi guys

We recently started selling the IMC and IM range here in South Africa.

All was well until we had our first IMC2000 go down last week.

    Low and behold FU102 blown.

Further investigation shows TH001 & TH002 on the DC board blown in half.

This leads me to believe that there is some part on the board that fails and causes the short, in other words, it is not a spike from outside that is causing the failure.

Will try and get more answers from the guy doing our board repairs, once we get the boards back.
    Press the GREEN button!!

Yep...I found this out the hard way.
The machine lasted 2 weeks from install.
DC pcb took out the AC PSU...TWICE.
Fitted the first board and bam....ordered a second one as well as the DC pcb to be safe and all was well.
