Using hostname of pc
This would be handy. Every FTP I have done has always failed with the hostname. IP worked every time. Though there was one Minolta that hostname did work. SMB has worked for both hostname and IP for me.
Host name for FTP will work best when you are on a domain and the FTP server is a service on one of your domain servers. In that case the host becomes yourdomain.com or in some cases ftp.yourdomain.com.
check the copier settings do a ipconfig \all make sure to enter dns and wins settings also domain name
other option is make that pc a static ipaddress if hostname fails
