    In as much as the 6 digit number for all current models can be changed by the service tech and that some companies have their techs do so to prevent competitor from sabotaging their clients' machines, you would be best to ask the dealer who originally sold the machine.

    Have you checked to see if the service mode lock is on in user tools?

    No disrespect but why would you type info that john public will see..
    and maybe if you asked nicely someone would email you a manual or offer a swap if they need canon............
