MP6001 with sc143 and odd radf issues,

    HI
I have an old mp6001 on its last leg"1.2mil and showing its age" and it has random adf jams where it doesnt eject the entire original.
    codes 057 and 006.
The machine does not throw a sc code but it shows up in sc history.
Optics all look clean and copies from glass seem ok.
I dont have a parts machine to part out and dont want to shoot a lot of big parts on this.
    any advice.

Re: MP6001 with sc143 and odd radf issues,

1.2M? That's the expected life of the drum not the entire machine. Properly maintained these models will go at least 5M.

SC 143 SBU auto gain error

The white level cannot be adjusted to the first target level within the target
    during auto gain control.
Level C error code SCs that are not shown on the operation panel. They are internally logged. Logging only
    SBU board defective
    SIOB board defective
    IPU board defective
    BCU board defective
    Scanner motor defective

Have you cleaned the white reference, i.e. bottom on left scale on exposure glass? In fact have you actually cleaned anything? A clouded glass may look clean but shine a focused bright light on it and you will see a hazy film. Same is true of mirrors. The film is from ozone generated by the charge coronas and crude in the air.

Original jam 006 is the registration sensor not seeing lead edge in time. Normally a dirty black reference plate or sensor.
Original jam 057 is a trail edge jam at the exit. Dirty sensor/reference or dirty exit rollers.

    Thanks.
optics, white reference,CIS,internal white roller have all been cleaned.
I know 1.2m is not end of life but if this unit starts to need boards i rather upgrade them to a mp6002 and
give them" a law firm" a more reliable option.
I guess what i was wondering is would the "hidden sc143 code" cause adf to jam?

thanks even in adf free run and test mode it would drop out and pause and then go...
I am feeling time to upgrade plus after 7-8 years on the job it has served its owner well.

To me it s time vs money vs reliability..
I deal wth a lot of law firms and a machine down creates issues and
makes me have to get there fast"good luck in nyc".
I also have access to low meter clean lease returns so my days of forever on a
7=8 yr old machine are over.
And some customer will think if they pour $800 into a machine it will be reborn but
there are way one can say that....
