MP601
Anyone dealt with feed duplex issues guide plate above 1st. Tray doesn't seem to lower?

Re: MP601
No bulletins issued for this fault, at least none that I have.

Re: MP601
There's a white lever that is supposed to fit into an actuator behind the Left hand PCB.
Numpty customers tend to pull it forward and out of position and it stops you from opening the duplex plate.
I have one in the workshop right now so I know exactly what you're taking about.
You have to strip the left hand side of the machine including the psu.
I haven't stripped this one yet but we've had a duplex assy out before and it's a royal pain in the butt..!!!
UPDATE:
It's a 15 minute fix as it turns out.
Pop all of the left side covers off and you'll see the actuator being held in the wrong position by the sensor flag.
GENTLY move the flag to be in front of the actuator and you'll be able to open and close the duplex tray properly.
A stoopid design once again.
The fault that we had from this was that the machine didn't know that there was paper in tray 1.

Re: MP601
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:
Went to look at a Kyocera Ecosys 3540 today with the same fault...because it's the same machine as the MP501/601.
Takes 15 mins tops to fix and actually takes longer to refit the dumbass covers than it does to fix the fault.

Re: MP601
Thanks you got it dead on, now I know who makes these machines.. Interesting. Wonder how many more of the newer low end machines are actually made by kyocera... Or does kyocera rebadge them from Ricoh ???
