Cleaned the laser slit glass, optics etc.
    Copies were STILL shocking.
Returned to the machine the next week(it's 2 hours from the workshop) and fitted a new lamp and SIO board...
A very slight improvement but still not as good as the print engine.
    Any ideas?
Looking at your scan sample I would not say its really pale or “shocking”
Did you replaced the complete PCDU or just PCU?
Have you updated the firmware? No mention of this.

I have noticed over the years the copies are never quite as good as the prints. I explain to my customers that the extra layer of hardware and processing for copies is the cause, like comparing a second generation image to the first. Still good, but not quite the same. However, looking at the images you uploaded, the copies look like they could be improved upon (unless the upload scan to CTN was kind of f#%ked up).

You're on the right track with something in the scanner section. Mirrors "fogged"? I have noticed this sometimes after cleaning optics, and have to re-clean.
Also, have you tried cleaning or replacing the "Lens Assembly" over to the right? About the only other part to try since you said you did the LED lamp, and SIO board.

But doesn't it do both thru the process? Been a while Bro.

If you are talking about process control, NO. Process control can does line correction and toner density control by reading the patches on the ITB. It has no way to compare a scanned image to a stored image.

Replaced the complete PCDU and I DID notice that the scanned upload doesn't look as bad as it does first hand.
Firmware was updated on the first visit.
Slim might be onto something with the ACC...I might try and restore the previous ACC and see if it changes.

I hope I'm not trying to teach my granny to suck eggs but you did remember to reset the ITB release lever so the belt is in full contact with the drum?

I got caught the other week.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

    Sure did ..
Luckily(or unluckily) for me the fault was there prior to fitting the new pcdu...so it was an existing fault.
The customer never noticed it...I did.
Now that they've seen it...they can't unsee it
