    MPC307spf Android panel went dead

    Good day all

    Here is a strange one.

We had a MPc307spf in the workshop for repair. It was repaired and sent back to the customer.
In transit the touch panel was damaged (touch glass cracked) but the panel would still boot and show all functions without coding.

The machine was then brought back for repair of the touch panel.
The panel was replaced yesterday, with a good condition working one, and its operation confirmed.

This morning when we power up the machine, the panel is dead, as in black with no power - the rest of the machine powers up.
Did some troubleshooting and found that the issue is on the bcu? As when same panel with same cable is plugged into other machine the panel powers up??

Does this make sense to anyone, or has anyone come across this?

I am at a loss as to what could have happened that caused this condition.

I would appreciate any feedback please, as bicus are in short supply and repair time is a real issue right now.

    TIA.

Re: MPC307spf Android panel went dead

Firmware (android OS) on op panel could have a mis match with the original machine. If it sat on a shelf for a long time it could be out of date or could be newer and the machine out of date.. I would update op panel and firmware and see if it comes back to life.

If the panel works on another machine, I don't think the panel would be the issue...but it never hurts to reflash the machine's firmware.

A lot of times it's either a corrupt file in the firmware, or a slightly loose connection of one of the boards that make things go "wonky".

    Keep us posted.

If the panel was damaged in transit I suspect the rear took a knock & damaged the BICU etc.

Is just the blue led only lights up on start up? Possible to switch to recovery mode of the panel?
Have a look to RTB No.: RD296039a in KBTier2 for Trouble shooting: Smart Operation Panel Issues.
In two other cases of mine the USB cable was not plugged properly to the BiCU.
