In the manaul it is listed as a software error and all it says is switch off/on.
I loked through another forum I use and came across this listing
I recently attended a DSM 651 with a SR850 finisher which was giving a strange problem. The finisher had the main PCB and looms and sensors changed with no change to condition.
On powering up the machine the exit tray would lower but not come back up and the machine would then register a jam at R1 & R3. After opening the finisher door the jam condition would disappear and then the machine would idle for around 10 seconds then go SC992.
After many hours of fault finding I found a sensor plate was bent only slightly out of line. After reforming the plate the machine worked with no problems !!!!!!!!!
SC992 Undefined Software Error - CTL
This happened while working on a Savin 3828
FYI - Before you waste your time reloading firmware split the copier from the finisher and see if you still get the error code. If you do check and make sure nothing is binding your finisher trays. It took some time for me to finally find a large black type paper clip/clasp logged between the lower finisher tray and the finisher not allowing the finisher tray to move therefore not allowing it to fully initialize. Wish it was like a Canon and just throw a E534 or whatever it is.
