I have one of my techs working on a 3260c for 3 days cant get rid of an sc310 error code. Heres all hes tried. Whole drum and developer unit. Hvt board and bicu board. Its pointing the the magenta dv unit e tells me. Any other ideas or anyone ever have this issue before. Customer is furious.
Recheck the code. I dont see a 310 listed.

From the manualI hope your tech is troubleshooting and not just throwing parts at it.Disconnect the HV cable from Terminal C of the HVPS. Attach a voltmeter. If there is no output from the terminal, replace the HVPS. If there is output from the terminal, test the resistance between the HV cable and the ground. If resistance is nearly “0” check the HV cable for defects and replace. Test the conductivity between the OPC and the ground. If there is no conductivity , replace the OPC unit. If there is no charge PWM signal, replace the BCU.

He told me he checked all that because its what it states in the manual. Also the only thing that hasnt been checked is the wire but its a new box.
When you say that he replaced the whole drum unit, did this include the charge unit?
Also, which wire hasn't he checked? If it's the charge wire then he'll have his work cut out finding that in a 3260.
Having thrown all of those parts at it with no success, my guess would have to be a wiring issue in the back of the machine. Probably a poor connection or something out of position which has been catching but as I don't have one at home to look at (no great surprise really) I don't recall what that could be offhand.
I also assume that he's followed the troubleshooting procedure listed by Jomama above?
My next port of call would be to log it with Ricoh, get a case number, get authorisation to throw all of the parts listed above at it and return whatever doesn't fix it or failing that, get them to send out a product specialist.
Thanks for both you gus help. It was a short in a wire somewhere. I sent another guy with him and they got it.
