    Question Meter Reads

Has anyone found an easy way to gather meter readings remotely on Ricoh machines? Any luck with on demand requests or @Remote. With Sharp and Toshiba you can set it up to automatically email it in once a month. I have tried the on demand email, but it does not give me the info I want.
    Thanks

I would love a email response like Email notification option. @remote just a bit pricey for a small dealer at the moment.

So if anyone does have any meter read ideas let us know

Copiers are only as good as there last service

I don't know how much the on-line training course cost, but we are a small dealer and use @remote. It works great! I have close to 60 embedded systems online and one Gate monitoring 35 MFPs at one location. I have the server set to email me all calls (service and supplys) and also have our two receptionist copyed in the supply e-mails. That way, they can grab the toner a customer needs and ship it out that day.

When it comes to say, changing an SP or something, it is pretty slow because the command has to be qued and it takes about 20 minutes for that to happen. So, you have to pull recent data from the machine, which can only take place once an hour. Once that is done, change whatever settings you want and wait twenty minutes.

The remote firmware updates work really well too! You can have it upload the firmware right then or at a later time, like say when noone is going to be around the machine.

As for the system being pricy... again, I don't know how much the trainning costs, but we charge $40 a month for the Gate and Embedded systems are free. The gate has been in place almost three years, with no problems I might add, so it has more than paid for itself. Even if you didn't want to purchase a Gate or had no need for one, you could still use the Embedded @Remote and I feel like within the first year of using it you would mark a large portion of your investment back just because you wont have to deliver toner to those customers on the system.

I think the online training is about 75.00 , once you are trained there is no charge for using the At Remote , the Appliance is a bit pricey about 600.00 , but worth it, and embedded id free, as unisys12 stated.

We are looking at @remote. Was wondering if anyone has tried On-demand E-mail Notification or knows the commands? Found some but get invalid commands back.

    Subject field format

    • devicestatus?parametername=parameter[&=parameter][&=parameter]...

    Note:

    • The Subject field is case-insensitive.
    • Parameter names can be written in any order.

    Subject field coding examples

    • devicestatus?request=sysconfig& format=text& lang=en The device's system configuration information will be sent in an English text format.
    • devicestatus?request=sysconfig The device's system configuration information will be sent in a preset format and language.

Our IT guys have looked at this also, they were able to replicated the MIB codes to read the meters but there where to many variables.

I beleive the MIBs can excessed via Ricoh only if you befome a developer.

More info out there may actually lead us closer to our goal, free remote meter reads

Copiers are only as good as there last service
