You must install all the firmware for all the options you have on the machine, i.e. finisher, interposer etc. First install the system firwmare, and reboot the machine. Yes it takes time to comeup, can be upto 10mins, then the engine firmware, and reboot, again will tiake time to come up. The install all the other option firmeare. I rebooted after each item. Ricoh reccomend you upgrade to the Pro range of firmware as well. The whole job can take up to 90 mins but it works.

Sorry quick ammendmentto my previous post, you must upgrade the ENGINE firmware first, not the SYSTEM (very important), and proceed as previosly mentioned.

Is the SD card over 1gb, they don't like them. I have had the very same problem after installing the system firmware first. Ricoh say you have to take the system card for another machine, and boot from that. Then do the upgrade, I manged to downgrade the machine to the earlier firemware version, then run the upgrade, using the engine firmware first, reboot then system etc etc. Ricoh said this shopudn't havce worked but it did.

Try to downgrade the firmware to an earlier release, preferbaly the one you upgraded from. I have done the engine frimware with a laptop using the web interface before, but then carried on using the SD card

Use the SD card then, but the machine does take a while to boot up (can be 10 mins)
