    Aficio 1018

Hi... We have just imported a bunch of used machines from UK which we are servicing/cleaning up and placing on rent locally. Almost all machines are displaying a toner build up on the Heater Roller causing a slight background of repeat images to appear on the copy. This build up is ocurring even after a little as 1000 copies have been reproduced.
Pls let me know if there is any remedy and what it is? thanks in advance.

Replaced the Pressure Roller yet? Made sure the Pressure Roller Levers are properly seated? Possible Worn Pressure Roller Bushings Causing PR to sit in deeper than it should.

As there is no pressure cleaning roller on this model, it depends heavily on the oil in the pressure roller to keep the heat roller clean. Also be sure and use OEM toner to avoid toner melting problems.

You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.

Thank You gentlemen for yr replies. Much Appreciated!! I'm quite certain that our source supplies us with OEM toner. So I will replace the Pressure Roller on a few of these machines and check the Pressure Roller busings on all of them and note the results.
Pls afford me some time to post the results.
    Have a great day!

We have had some luck cleaning and extending the life of the heat rollers by using HR Cleaner toner remover. Ricoh part number A1539530.

How do you init the dev? i am puttin in fresh dev, also rebulding drum unit with Cherger roller and cleaning roller . I do not know how to get into service mode. also will i need to reset the drum life counter etc. i have never worked on any Lanier . my experience is with Canon, Konica, Toshiba, Sharp, and some really old anolog Xerox's. Thanks for any info you can give me. This is for a friend of mine they bought it from some one las week, and it has strks from the drum. its also has over 60k on it. so i was thinking it wouldnt hurt to replace the developer as well .
