I have had SC555 today on an mp5500 but I reset the machine in copy sp mode and ordered thermistors. But bad connection, fusing lamp can also cause the code.

Put the update thermisters in, and separate the fuser lamp wire in the rear of the machine. I think we are speaking about the B140 series, right. Thermister is AW10-0108, and 0109

I had a machine where the insulation had worn off one of the lamp wires because some tech (possibly me) didn't route the wires carefully. It would intermittently short causing the lamp to come on and overheat. I also had one where the rear thermistor got folded down and was contacting the hot roller backwards - as fragile as they are it had to be when it was installed or it would have been destroyed.
Mostly what I see is buildup on the thermistors, or rarely they are bent slightly and not contacting the heat roller good enough.
I also see a lot of 555's after a good thunderstorm. The codes almost always reset, so nothing wrong with the machine, just a CPU crash - hook up a line monitor if your office has one.

Sometimes I see Bulletin Formats I don't recognize. Those aren't on TSC Website in that Format. Where are you pulling them up. The more info the better.

As for this machine, yeah we've had some be this contrary. The new thermistors/thermostats fixed it.

Someone says they were changed due to Electronic Noise. But Savin/Ricoh only says parts standardization or manufacturer change in there bulletins. How are you privy to this info?

Martini? Where are you finding info like that?
