    hi

I encountered this problem many times with black toner (MP C2500), what I did is just cleaned the host(tube) from the toner to the black dev't unit. The toner tends to get stuck on the host(tube) because on the middle it is elevated. Just try this!!!

    +1

I've cleaned out clogged toner supply tubes a few times on the MPC 2500-4500 range.
And I've also had a couple of faulty toner attraction pumps.

    Thumbs up

NIGHTMARE FAULT .... Turned out the fault is caused by the toner signal from the NVRam not being altered when the new bottle installed.
FIX.. copy NVRam on to SD card. Print SMC report. Print of Non standard data report. Carry out MEMORY ALL CLEAR. Reinstall NON STANDARD settings,( mainly the Scanner settings) as you may have back ground. Time will tell if this has worked.
( some machine just will not have it.) If this is the case turn of toner end detect in sp3 05 ???

I have had to do what Spaceman did also. Engine clear. Machine is f*&^%d afterward, and all settings, init's need to be reloaded and performed (line positioning, color cal., etc.)
Don't take that toner with me!

I've just changed teams and am new to this series.

Could you please explain what you mean by "set up the regisration rom sp"?

    Thanks,

    reg needs setting up in sp mode. sp2111 - 1 , 2 , 3 forced line postion

sometimes it does not always work from 1 so ned to start at 3 then 2 then 1

after that then do it from maintaince on cust serv screen

    good luck

Very often there is no need to re-enter the non-default manually if you use the NV Ram backup/restore feature via SD card. I know that it should theoretically backup and the restore the error as well but this worked in most cases for me. In case it doesn't do the trick you can still reset the NV ram again and enter the values manually from the SMC lists / non-default page.

    Re: mpc4500 adding tonr

I am new to this forum and have a Ricoh MPC4500. I am wondering if the first check would be to remove and clean the toner pump (in this case the black one) when after inserting a new toner cartridge and after a number of attempts at adding loading fails. having opened and closed the front door a number times (in this case 10 times)
    Thanks
    Bill
