    MPC 1500 sc 202

customer complained that the magenta was not printing. did the head cleaning 3 times. still the same. printed the nozzle test patern and the magenta was completley blank. tried to flush the magenta head and i ended up with the sc code of 202.

checked the ink full sensor and it seemed alright. am not an inkjet expert i just happen to have more experience on these types than any other engineer where i work.

Had this exact problem last week. I changed the maintenance unit and waste ink tank, reset the pm counters and reset the waste tank b counter in sp 2xx.
There is also a tech bulletin re the print head carriage where you have to take it out and push the slider down with a small flat blade. It's in the service manual on the disk

Ah! Sorry, I don't know. But if there is a way you're sure to find out on this site or from the 'experts' at Ricoh.

Try a super flush in SP modes. If that doesn't work it's a new engine unit.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

310 isn't listed in the manual. Do you mean 210?

That's the main scan encoder signal error. This little machine sounds rather miffed at itself at the moment. Replace the engine unit and look at the main scan encoder too.
