ok then
Well, did you use the output check to reproduce the noise? Sometimes you think that part x must be bad and finally it was something totally else.
no i havent. ive run nearly 900 copies off without the machine breaking down.
just hope it doesnt break down in the morning.
few days ago i replaced the cleaning unit with a brand new one. today the grinding noise cam back in.
Hi Ash
I would definitely be leanning towards the encoder assy if the cleaning unit doesn't sort it. If you don't have a spare transfer unit to test with, you may have to bite the bullet and order up the assy. If you don't use it on this one, you will prob'ly end up using it on another at some time.
Good luck

The waste toner from the transfer belt cleaning unit blocked - does not drop into the waste toner collection duct from opening [E] (- section 6.7.6 WASTE TONER COLLECTION)
Reason: 5 AA04 3559 Timing Belt - S2M370 - out of roller driving6 B101 3768 Joint:Collection Bottle:Ass'y
Hard toner blocked rotation of cleaning unit = grinding noise.
(When cleaning unit had removed, blockage finished but after few hundreds prints came again)
