    Scanning function on DSc332

When I press the Scanning button, the display reads,"No HD available for this function, Use Twain."
The SP lists shows that the HD exists, I can duplex, staple etc.
I have formatted the drive and even replaced the set with one from a working 338. Sameo, sameo.
    Any ideas?

Are there any controller related SC's, i.e. 819, 670 etc?

If not, it could be possible the second hard drive has the same error on as the first. Update the firmware, failing that it's a new controller board I'm afraid.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Scanner Software isn't seeing HD, yet Copier does. You swapped HD. Doubt two bad ones in a row.

So yes probably jacked up firmware or Controller Board.

Thanks for the replies ,No SCs. The firmware is up to date but a reflash never hurts and its cheap and easy,(just like me). If that doesnt do it I'll send the controller off be repaired. Its not compatible with the 38 or 28.

Yep, ran those SPs No joy. Replaced the BCU. Nuttin' Replaced the print scan SD card. nope, nuttin' nada.
It seems like a setting because, the machine reports that it has the HD, just not available for scanning. Even tho there are two HDs, they aren't for separate functions. It has a usable doc server and can duplex and sort.
So I dont know, I'm sending the controller including the HDs to Hytec for repair.

Do you have a data over-write (DOS) option installed currently or in the past? Seems this model has some (maybe future and never implemented) options to prevent HD writes for this purpose.

Another sp I missed earlier, SP5801-9.
Does anything stand out with the sp printouts for scanner sp and user, 5990-22 and 23

It had a fax unit at one time and that was removed. The hd works perfectly for doc server and copy functions.

I cant see any difference between this machine and a 338 next to it. Except of course the expected, like LD setup, registration, etc.
    I have done 5801-9.
Maybe I should have replaced and cleared the NVRAM on the controller.
    Its like something is stuck.
I sent the controller off yesterday.
