    Exclamation AFICIO 2045e(DSM 645) SC990 INTERMITENT

Friends, I am trying to fix an AFICIO 2045(GESTETNER DSM645) throwing SC990 intermitently.
The case is I have serviced the machine which was stored for one year or more .Polished the drum with soft cloth and switched on the unit. After some dirty copies the unit started throwing 990.
I have replaced the PCU as per senior techs advice but the machine is still throwing 990.
Machine makes 13 copies in a multi copy job and it throws 990. Once the machine made 50 copies in one run but again it goes for 13.
software ver of BICU is 2.40
Transfer belt cleaning blade is weak .

Wasn't this machine the one that required Firmware Upgrade, PM and Door Switches changed to prevent this SC?

I struggled with 990 codes before, you need to replace drum and developer as a set. Then before you do developer initilazation you need to go into the laser power adjustments an set them to defaults. What happens is the power of the lasers get so high that it maxes out the memory on the machine popping the 990 codes. The laser power gets so high to compensate for drum and developer wear. After doing this the 990 codes should disappear.

    SC Code Specific
    Occurrence
    Conditions
    Cause Action
    SC990 The following data is
    stored in the SC error
    log:
    File:
    procon.c

    Line: 8xxx (ex. 8573)
    Value: 0
    Note:
    In many such
    cases, SP2103-1 to -4
    have been set to a
    value near the
    maximum (+64).
    A normal grayscale
    pattern was not detected
    15 times consecutively
    during the ID sensor
    Grayscale pattern check.
    1. Clean the ID sensor
    and/or drum.
    2. Replace the following, as
    deemed necessary:

    #
    OPC drum

    #
    Developer

    #
    Cleaning blade

    #
    Charge roller

    #
    Charge roller cleaning
    roller

    #
    LD unit
    3. If any of the above
    actions resolved the SC,
    perform all of the
    following:
    1. Execute SP3001-2 (ID
    Sensor Initial Setting).
    2. Return SP2001-1
    (Charge Roller Bias
    Adjustment) to its default
    value.
    3. Return SP2103-1 to -4
    (LD Power Adjustment) to

    their default values.
