Stop wining about these lovely machines
maybe these machines are bad for high costs contracts

But did you ever think of small bussines like a gardener or mechanic,
who likes to make 20 or 40 color copies a day.
they can't affort high cost contracts and machines for about 10.000 euro's

these machines are very cheap to buy and remain (if you know what your talking about and not blindley replace everything) these cost about 1.000 euro's.

    For example:
a konica c350 pcu costs about 400 euro's (and you need 4 of them every 60.000 copies)
Then the machines stops till you have replaced the pcu's

The pcu of the 1224 costs about 250 euro's and if treaded well it runs about 100.000 copies (much more if you aren't bitching about quality)

Not everyone likes a bill every 60.000 copies for about 1500 euro.

I agree with the poor quality but these color machines are the only affortable ones on the market (if you want to buy a cheap second hand)

if you can reccommend me a second hand machine for about 1000 euro that is better than this one and cheap to remain.... please do.
if not stop wining about quality and so.

Not true.1stly the machine does not stop when asking for an I.U. if the settings are adjusted correctly.2nd I have heard of a set of I.U.s doing 500% of the expected life(thats 300,000 prints) as you say you can eek out the most from these machines with a bit of T.L.C. and patience.I have no doubt that customers like the cheap and nasty version but i think this thread is more about what a pain in the ass The Ricoh 1232 series are for the tech!!! Is it April fool's day again already?

They are bad for any type of contract. The parts go wrong no matter what the volume.

What color is the sky on the planet where you live?

If their volume is low enough to successfully run one of these, they would probably be better off with a business class InkJet. Save yourself the headache.

What happens when the lens unit has to be replaced? Who pays for that? What happens when the cleaning drive assy has to be replaced? Who has to pay for that? Sure, everybody wants a bargain but generally the folks who buy these are the ones that can least afford to repair it and it will require some repair, more than many. And they will be the ones that complain the most. Good way to lose a customer.
Don't drink the kool-aid, these machines are crap. I wouldn't give you a dime for a bakers dozen.

You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.

Lens unit?? we have got about 200 of these in the field and replaced maybe 2 lens units, for about 90 euro.
and about the cleaning drive assy, these will go a long way .... if you clean them every time you are doing service. same as the fixing unit, clutches, corona, laser unit etc. etc.

We also have about 200 konica machines in the field
The print quality is outstanding but... we have more complainig of these machines

And now we are replacing the 224's for newer nrg mpc machines... these are all crap.

I know these arent the best around but.. there aren't many alternatives...
please tell me if you know one.(cheap and easy to maintain)...

I'm sorry i meant take one of a second hand machine...

But the only complains we get from these machines is slow pdf printing.

overall they are pretty happy with these machines.
(Happier then our konica or mpc clients)
