    Toner Coverage (Average, %)

Is there any (easy) way of getting to a Ricoh machine (let's say, an MPC2050) and check and/or print the toner coverage history?

On a Konica Minolta C250, you just had to print a two-page counter report in the utility screen to check the toner coverage on the second page.

On the Konica 7075, we had to enter tech rep mode 36 and print a one-sheet coverage data to check the coverage.

But on the Ricoh MPC2050 I print the 14-page report and still can't find what I need in the middle of so much data (they say too much data is not good, and now I can understand why).

Same thing goes for historical data for paper output in different sizes (A4, A3, Letter, 11x17, etc). I can find several things, but I can't make heads and tails from what I have.

    Please help!

    Cheers!

Thanks. That solves part of my problem - although printing a 14-page report to get this data seems kind of out of proportion. I found out an SP (5056-001) that supposedly (as I read it) allows us to check the coverage on the machine's LCD. But it doesn't work. (Incidentally, I found out SP5061-001 that puts a small icon on the main screen showing the remaining toner - sweet! )

As for the counters for different paper sizes, once again I see many counters showing just that, but which one is the one I need? Total prints (copies+prints+fax+etc) for each paper size?

On a mpc 2500, you can show a coverage counter on the lcd with sp mode 5056 set to "1". As the explaination of the sp mode was less than stellar, I don't know if this is exactly what your looking for.
Sorry, as I was typing a reply to this post this information had already been submitted.

    SP5056 - Coverage counter display
Display or does not display the coverage counter on the LCD.

SP8921 is the total % coverage counter (to date) for each colour.

    [Edit] beaten to it.

Mikadonovan and Cypher: Thanks for your replies, but I tried turning on that SP but still there's no coverage shown on the LCD - unless I'm looking at the wrong place, but I can't find it if it is there.

Another thing that puzzles me: How come it says it is a percentage but I get a 5-digit figure in here? Does this "+59585 BK Coverage %" mean 5.9585%?

    Hell to Ricoh documentation...

You may need to cycle the power for the coverage counter to show up.
Not sure where it would be displayed though, might be under the status soft button or on the counter print off.

Not really sure on the readings either... I rarely (if at all) have ever needed to look at coverage counters.

Went to switch on SP5-056 on our own MPC4500 and it was already on!

    Doesn't show anything though.
