    Toner Hoppers

Are all toner hoppers created equal in the the make and models Ricoh Aficio 350, 1035, and 2035? What I am meaning by this is, can the toner hoppers be interchanged? Can 350 hopper work in a 1035 or 2035 copier, and vice versa?
Question 2: What do think would be the problem with a brand new toner hopper not adding toner to the machine even though the cartridge is turning? Any help appreciated, thank you.

how do you know its turning.
You can rotate the bottle in the hopper and see if toner comes out the shutter.
Pull the pcu and cheat the door and see if the hopper is turning in output mode.
check the shutters on the pcu and the hopper to be sure they are opening.
Look at Vsp and Vsg. Are they in line?
Sure you got the right bottle?

It is possible the gears in te dev unit are stuck or broken and not tuning therefore not adding toner.Take the end off the dev unit at the front of the machine, cheat the door and add toner in sp mod -see if the gears are turning.

All the NAD / Adonis toner hoppers are identical, the Alex is the only one that's different.

With regard to the toner add problem, cheat the front door and shine a torch in the gap on the right hand side of the hopper, you'll be able to see the bottle move.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I don't know the "names" but the 350 hopper is different than the 1035.

There's one very common problem to watch for. When the customer removes the empty cartridge, occasionally the inner "cap" sticks in the hopper. Then the customer installs a cartridge with it's own inner cap. Well, the hopper can open only one inner cap, so the double-capped bottle remains capped, and the toner can't get out.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

What makes you say it's not adding toner ?

Are you getting the loading toner screen or not ?

New hopper, you are sure the bottle is turning, you are getting loading toner. Make sure it's the right one, yeah could be an extra cap but I would hope you would have saw that when you put the new hopper in.

Odd, the toner handle and inner spinny thing with the mylars on it is the same all the way through the NAD / Adonis range. Again the Alex is the only awkward one. Kind of a trend setter methinks. Of shit.

Hopefully a trend that doesn't catch on to the other machines

In the UK, the original MP4000/MP5000 has a duff moulding on the drive end of the bottle which stops it rotating. The new 'improved' bottles are ok.

the toner cartridge is turning yet the hopper is not turning. The hopper I ordered was for a R-350/450. I was trying to use it in a R-1035. However I did try these hoppers in R-350/450 copiers and had the same results but now I know what to look for. Thanks!!!
