Ricoh 1224c poor print ouput and copy quality!!

Strange image faults happening on my clients Ricoh 1224c!

The colour is changing and varies over the prints and copies.

When you print a gray coloured image, it comes out cyan!

Black seems to be ok but when printing the config page but where the text is white in the title bar, its like the black has blurred over the white text.

All the dev units are turning correctly. Not sure when or if they have been replaced.I swapped the PCU with a known working one.

    Using genuine Ricoh M2 toner.

    Fuser looks clean.

The text on copies looks washed out slightly.

    Cleaned the optics. . . .

Cleaned LD unit inside and out.

Pulling my hair out over this one!!

I know these are bad machines but there is no way of upgrading!

Would be happy if there are any service bulletins available!

I have attached examples of the problems!

I'd second that. I'd chuck a full set of dev units and a brand new PCU in, nice clean slate then.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

The dark lines is the pcu cleaning blade not cleaning. The light streaks are the dev units....i found that toner clumps up in those, you can shake the hell out of them and it clears up the faint lines. Also clean the laser slit glass.

WOW! That machine is making good quality prints! You're not gonna get better than that!!

I agree : White lines : dev units
    Black lines : PCU

    Thanks guys!!

The fork and shovel image in the document named 'south_quality3.pdf' is coming out cyan when it should be grey scale too. . . .

    Any ideas on that?

    Thanks!

Roll it out to the parking lot and charge $5.00 a shot with a baseball bat.
This will give the customer the down payment for a average color box.
The Ricoh 12XX series won't even work as a good boat anchor because it's edges are rounded.
If you use it as an anchor, tie the salesman that sold it to the chain.
Cost replacement for simple PM parts are almost as much per click as an inkjet in the Sahara desert.
