Sounds like a flipped cleaning blade to me! Are they using Ricoh toner?? We have had trouble with one or two MP6000 series machines and I think they were using Parsia (Not sure)

Heard a lot of complaints about this style of cleaning blades made in China. Part no. is the same AD04-1140 but the country of origin is now China instead Japan. I don't think the main motor failed so soon but if is made in the same place with the cleaning blade it is very possible.

It was the transfer belt, it ripped on the rear side and wedged against the drum...

Sorry to ask...but how many copies/prints on this machine? Was a defective belt or the maintenance was not done in time?
Usually belts are really good and you can obtain even 600 K from them.

101k not much at all.. I'm wondering if a staple or something didn't get in there and cause it to shred. I have around 16 of these and haven't seen one do this yet.

I have had it caused by a torn transfer belt. Caused by a drum pick off pawl falling onto the transfer belt after a paper jam under the drum unit.

I saw one 1075 at a solictor's with 2.7 million on the clock, still with it's original transfer belt. Most I see have at least 1.5 million on the clock before they need replacing. Changing the blade every 600k or so makes them last a LOT longer.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.
