Lanier LD122, jams at finisher exit.

This machine has one of those 500 sheet small sorters on the end. The paper seems to be getting caught on the exit rubber pawl on one side. This is the first of this kind of sorter I have worked on , so my question is, does the rubber pawl sag and need to be replaced, or is the exit gate out of time? I noticed the gate has a small belt to actuate it. On the back of the sorter, the rubber pawl seems to be held up by a piece of plastic, is there supposed to be one under both? I pulled the sorter off and took to shop so they could run.

grab the little paddle things and force the shaft to the correct position. these skip on the drive belt and become mis-timed. just skip it back where it should be.

Those finishers are rubbish - people pull out the paper while its being held in the exit for stapling causing the shaft to get out of sync
