    MPC4000

    this machine gives an malfunction on finisher,
    this is displayed as an error.
    Paper now coming on the middle tray.
    Have to visit customer tomorrow, well known problem on this model ?
    Don't have much experience on this one

    You have to be more specific. What's the display reading? Is it a functional problem with an SC... And, important question, what kind of finisher are we talking about?

    I had a call yesterday on the same model, error was a SC760 (punch motor). There was a staple in the die blocking one of the punch heads, preventing complete rotation during initialization. These new models are smart enough now to divert prints automatically to the internal tray without having to disconnect the finisher until a tech comes out.

    Could be something as simple as finisher unplugged from back of unit.
