    MP2510 acting up

    Hey guys,

I've got this MP2510 that's giving me a hard time. It keeps giving SC542 codes. I've gone through the fuser and can find no errors, just in case I'm trying it in another machine tomorrow but I'm sure it's fine. We've also tried changing the PSU but to no avail. My support are very helpful but I thought I'd just ask you guys too.

    Any angles are welcome!
    Peace sells, but who's buying?

Had this once and found that one of the two thermistors was placed the wrong way (turned by 180°). But here the 542 code came up only once or twice a day, not CONSTANTLY.

I agree with Venom, my experience says it's usually the thermistors. Replace 'em both.

    Thanks guys!

Actually we've replaced both thermistors. But, today when trying the fuser in another machine it gave an SC541 code instead.
My support had an idea that maybe it was the old PSU that fried the thermistors, even the new ones. So I'll do just that, replace them again.

I tried to find that rtb but I couldn't... do you happen to have an RD number on it?

It's RTB22. It's to do with the metal plates that connect the thermostats together, the screws holding them weren't put in right.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

RTB22? I don't get that... it's the same reference as in the manuals whenever there's an update. Problem is I can't see those numbers, all I see is:

RB205010c Firmware Release History (SBCU) for Russian-C4/4.5 English2-11-2005 View File
RB205011c Firmware Release History (MBU) English1-8-2005 View File

RB205023 Leaking developer causes PCU gear damage English15-2-2007 View File

And so on... there's no RTB number. Am I blind or plain stupid?? :P

Did you check the thermal fuses? They can be repaired by throwing them against the wall. Also, check the fusing frame around the HR bearings. Sometimes the frame cracks or break, giving sc codes.
