Anyone used APP 2 ME yet

Had to set this up at a customers when they got their new 4001's . Was very simple to set up bit odd using google desktop but the customer was real pleased with the simple scanning and locked/ follow me print. No cost involved at all to the customer if they have a compatiable device..

Do you need to do anything to the Java card or just insert it into the machine?

I can't find ANY info on the Ricoh 4001 except for the press release. Nothing on the TSCweb.net or RFG-esource sites. App2me. hmm Sounds like more pains to me. I uninstall Google Desktop on every PC I see. Nothing but spyware these days.

    App2Me | Ricoh

Its the same as the 4000 except it has no mono scanner option and comes with PS installed. Plus has the embedded app2 me and the PPDM

Cost a bit more for those extra features? Can't say many of my customers use Postscript.

Thanks for the Link to the APP2Me website. I'll need to learn it. As the Connectivity Geek here I have to learn all this stuff cause some salesman is gonna hype it.

Sorry Vulkor, by PS, I should have said Print-Scan. Surprisingly the machines are priced the same as the privious color-scanner, Print-scan models. Just added value (?) with the App2me and PPDM.

Ahh So no basic models anymore. Gotcha. Still got to read the APp2me info, busy Friday. Calls continusouly rolling in. The PPDM you mention. Has something to do with customer customizing scan info? I've not heard of it before. I've set plenty of people up to scan to folder and email, and scanrouter over the years.

Its a package of 4 or 5 software packs for OCR, for doc management, for scanning, etc. The machine has it embedded in it and it comes with one license, I think.

If you are a Ricoh family dealer, you can get the PPDM nfr version free for demo/office purposes. The copier needs to be JAVA enabled for the program to work.
Don't take that toner with me!
