    Ricoh Aficio 2045

A customer is getting light copies when printing from the copier. Their printed pages will start out light then get darker to where it is making a good copy. They are also copying on a thin piece of paper. The way they have their copier set up for printing is by parallel port. Could the parallel port be causing this problem? The copier copies fine. Problem only seems to happen when printing. Any help appreciated, thank you.

I'm guessing that a generic drum is the fault

Have you checked the rear drum shaft bearing? the conductive grease dries out. Causing a variety of C.Q. issues. Mainly light copies, dirty chg roller, toner coated drum, etc.
