Cool mod but I doubt I will ever do it I am too by the book. Thanks to whoever pointed out that you can run the machine without a web unit it in. Today while I spent 15 minutes replacing a web I threw the fuser back in so the customer could still use the machine.

This is great. I have been waiting for one of these webs to run out to try this and today i got the chance. So much easier and time efficient. Thank you very much.

Cool idea, I might just have to give this a try. Got a lot of 4000's and 5000's so this would definitely cut down on service time. Those hot rollers run great, so even if the oil roller doesn't provide the same level of cleaning and lubrication that the web does, it shouldn't be a noticeable difference.

Been nearly a full year since I did my first one of these mods. Have 5 machines now, all running a dream with the oil rollers. Thanks again.

I don't even carry the web or web assembly anymore - just been updating everything with an oil roller. I do set the PM counters back to near default so it will ask for a new "web" somewhere between 150 and 200k (about every other developer change - even with the updated dev assy and new toner.)

I have found some springs that work much better than clipping the old ones, maybe I'll get around to updating my PDF sometime soon, but the part number is: AA063529

Just got a new MP5002 and it still has the same oil webs. Have heard that the MPC6000 oil rollers work too. Have not tried that yet though...

    Well done!

just this morning one of our techs was cursing while rebuilding just such a unit! He is going to "kiss your feet" once he sees this document!

This is the beauty of a forum like this! We are doing all the R&D for Ricoh these days it seems!
